Manitoba held the latest EOI Invitation Draw on 21st May 2020 and issued 99 Expression of Interest – EOI invitations to candidates including nine invitations to Express Entry to apply for provincial nomination.
These invitations were issued for three streams, which are Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas, and the International Education Stream. The issued invitations are also called Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs).
Manitoba Expression of Interest Draw
These Manitoba streams aren’t aligned with Express Entry system. Even if the candidate isn’t eligible for Immigration Points (Express Entry FSW and CRS points) but they have still the opportunity to apply nomination.
However, In order to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba through both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories, candidates need to register an EOI with the MPNP.
An EOI is an online profile that is ranked out of a score of 1,000. Points are awarded for a candidate’s education, work experience, connections to Manitoba, and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
Manitoba PNP Express Entry
Manitoba issued fourteen invitations in the latest EOI Draw on 21st May 2020 to apply for nomination those would have valid Express Entry profile.
Express Entry manages applications for three of Canada’s main economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
This Canadian Immigration points scoring system is the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and a candidate’s total points are known as their CRS score.
The CRS ranks eligible candidates for immigration to Canada through Express Entry under the following components:
- core human capital factors;
- accompanying spouse or common-law factors;
- skill transferability factors; and
- factors relating to a provincial nomination, a qualifying offer of arranged employment, Canadian study experience, a sibling in Canada, and/or French language ability.
Express Entry candidates require to get a nomination from Manitoba after applying and if they secure the nomination then they receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score and are effectively guaranteed an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a subsequent draw from the Express Entry pool.
Manitoba Expression of Interest – EOI Streams
Skilled Workers Overseas
Manitoba issued fifteen invitations of this stream’s candidates to apply for nomination.
The lowest-ranked Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidate selected in this draw had a score of 613.
The famous stream of the Provincial Nomination Program which is Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO). Those International workers who have a family or friend connection in Manitoba can be able to obtain Canadian permanent residence through this stream.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
Manitoba issued seventy-two invitations of this stream’s candidates to apply for nomination.
The lowest-ranked Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidate selected in this draw had a score of 485.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is aimed at helping skilled temporary workers in the province immigrate to Manitoba, Canada as Canadian permanent residents.
International Education Stream
The MPNP sent out 12 LAAs to International Education Stream candidates in this draw.
No EOI minimum score was provided.
The Manitoba International Education Stream is helping International graduates who live in Manitoba and wish to remain in the province as permanent residents. Manitoba’s intention is to provide a faster route to Canadian permanent resident status for international graduates who have studied at any institution in Manitoba.
There are three pathways under the Manitoba International Education Stream.

- Graduate Internship Pathway
- International Student Entrepreneur Pilot
