This child visa would work if the eligible parents’ biological child is out of Australia, the application also make from overseas and wait till the decision. Upon approval of this visa, the child can come on permanent residency status and join their parents in Australia indefinitely.
REQUIREMENTS OF CHILD VISA SUBCLASS 101
An eligible parent is:
- an Australian citizen
- the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa
- an eligible New Zealand citizen.
To get this visa, the child must be:
- sponsored by their parent or their parent’s partner
- single
- younger than 18 years of age, or: a full-time student between 18 and 25 years of age, or 18 or older and unable to work due to a disability and dependent on the sponsoring parent.
SUBCLASS 802
This visa for those children who resides in Australia with their parents and the eligible parents can sponsor the child as long as they wish. Parents can apply upon the behalf of a child who is younger than 18 years of age but they will need to prove their ability to sponsor the child. It is important to note that the child must be residing in Australia at the time of application lodging.

- an Australian citizen
- the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa
- an eligible New Zealand citizen.
